Discover the basic types of car insurance and find out how to obtain the coverage you need for your particular situation.

  • Collision Coverage – This covers your vehicle if you collide with something (with the exception of collisions with animals). This covers collisions with other cars as well as if you were to run into a wall, barrier, or bridge.

  • Comprehensive Coverage – This covers damage to your car that is not directly related a collision. This includes theft, fire, floods, colliding with a deer or other animal, and vandalism.

  • Liability Coverage – This covers the damages when you are at fault in an accident and you damage someone else’s car or property or cause injuries to someone else. Each state requires a certain amount of liability coverage, but it is important that you as the driver have an adequate amount of coverage in case you are ever at fault in an accident that causes injuries or damages to others.

  • Medical Payments – This is also called Personal Injury Protection. Medical payments pay for any injuries to the driver or passengers that occur if an accident occurred while you were driving. Personal Injury Protection usually includes disability income and death benefits as well.

There are other coverages available on an auto insurance policy, such as uninsured motorist coverage, roadside assistance, rental car coverage, and other options. Talk to us and find the coverage levels that best suit your needs.
